Current Report / Information
HATCH CHART
Water temps are riding around the high 60’s overnight and hitting mid to high 70’s on the Freestones and similar on the lower Main Stem during daytime highs.
Writing this update 7/31/25 in the AM. The Willowemoc and Beaverkill are in very low flows with very high temps and should be avoided until they cool in Early Fall. The Upper Tailwaters are wade friendly and cooler with trico mornings and small sulphur and spinner falls late. Avoid anything at or over 68F.
You’ll see small sz18 and sz20 Sulphurs as well as a few Iso’s, Cahills, and bwo’s around. Early mornings you’ll see Trico and Trico Spinners. If you aren’t on the water for the late evening hatch a well swung wet fly, dead drifted Iso Emerger, dead drift Pheasant tail nymph, Sulphur Emerger, or dead drift spent caddis may find a fish. Have a few black beatles and flying ants in your box. Fish late as end of day spinners are right as the light drops at sunset toward dark. Have your sz 18 sulphur spinners ready and focus on shorter casts if possible. Get up Early or Stay late and have fun.
